Your Oriental Rug Specialist
The Persian Rug and Carpet has been an essential part of Persian art and culture for hundreds of years. Weaving/knotting rugs is one of the most distinguished manifestations of Persian culture and dates back to ancient Persia.
What is so special about Persian Rugs?
Because of their painstaking craftsmanship, Persian rugs are also highly regarded for their quality and durability. With the right attention and care, they'll be enjoyed for generations to come. These pieces are also great investments, often increasing in worth if properly maintained.
There is an estimated population of 1.2 million weavers in Iran producing rugs and carpets for domestic markets and international export. In recent times Iranian rugs have come under fierce competition from other countries producing reproductions of the original Iranian designs as well as genuine cheaper substitutes.
Mir Galleries, a family business, have been trading in hand made Persian and oriental rugs and carpets for over thirty years.
